As I’m sitting here at the airport writing this blogpost I can’t help but feeling blessed… Blessed to able to make this trip, blessed to have two places to call home, blessed to have friends (who sometimes feel like family) in both places, blessed to be able to run and blessed to be able to run the New York City marathon.
The last few weeks haven’t been a walk in the park when it comes to running. I got injured again. This time it was my si joint that started bothering me… This is a joint located between the sacrum and the ilium bones of the pelvis.
I had to skip my last 30K and 32K and barely put on my running shoes for the past 2,5 weeks… Such a bummer. Also mentally this is hard, I know I can run a marathon since I’ve done it before. But I had been working so hard for the past few months to run a new PR. At this point I’ve given up hope that I’ll be able to run a new PR and I’ll just be happy to start and finish the race pain free. Fingers crossed!
